Mr Damian Lake is Medical Director, Founder and Co-owner of Tunbridge Wells Eye Centre and The Sight Centre, Tunbridge Wells, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Former Clinical Director at the World renowned Queen Victoria Hospital,East Grinstead,UK.
Mr Lake has also taken a keen interest in Eye Banking ,he was Medical advisor to the first Eye Bank in the UK at The Queen Victoria Hospital, and previously as Chairman of The Ocular Tissue and Transplantation Standards Group of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
From 2008 until 2019, Mr Lake has also represented the Queen Victoria Hospital Eye Bank at The Ocular Tissue Advisory Group to NHS BT.
Mr Lake runs courses for training doctors and consultants in Corneal disorders and Corneal surgical techniques, and regularly provides lectures and podcasts for trainees.
Mr Lake developed a successful Fellowship programme providing advanced level training for senior doctors wishing to pursue a career as Consultants specialising in Corneal disorders.

He continues to publish research papers and also acts as a peer reviewer in major international journals.His research is also presented at medical institutions and conferences worldwide.

Training and experience
Mr Lake graduated from The University of Glasgow Medical school in 1997 before obtaining Ophthalmic surgical training in London.
In 2006 he was granted a fellowship position at Moorfields Eye Hospital,London and the following year undertook a further Fellowship in Cornea,External diseases and Refractive surgery at The Queen Victoria Hospital,East Grinstead before appointment as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the same institution.
He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of The United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (UKISCRS-former council member),European Society of Cataract and Refractive surgeons (ESCRS), The American Academy of Ophthalmologists,The Cornea Society,The Medical Contact lens & Ocular surface Association,The British Refractive Society and The Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association.
